Mightyfools - Put Em Up
For a genre that I love so much, I don't really blog that much about proper dance or house music.
But, we have a superb dance instrumental here. 2013 has been great for dance instrumentals, the insanely talented Martin Garrix brought out 'Animals', Rivaz gave us 'Colors', The Bloody Beetroots released the insane 'Spark', to name just 3 of my favourites. But Mightyfools' original mix of their track 'Put Em Up' is definitely up there with the best of the year.
A month ago, Spinnin Records released a 2:05 version of the track, but I personally think the original mix, released yesterday, does the track more justice and gives the track long enough to really hit you properly. It doesn't take long for the track to build up, with aggressive shouts of PUT EM UP coming in around the 50 second mark, bracing you for one incredible breakdown. You just know that if you were at a club or festival when this was on, you would go absolutely crazy. It's so wonderfully euphoric, from the 'bloppy' (it's not a real word, but sounds so right to describe it) sound effects to the commanding bass drop.
There's certainly nothing subtle or elegant about this track. It's not trying to be a cool summer dance jam, it's just a full on rave from start to finish. Some incredible stuff right here.
