Elin Överfjord - Nu

Back to the blogging lifestyle, and it's back to what Sweden has to offer for us!

We haven't covered a song that isn't actually English language on Stereo Gold before, but language really isn't a problem at all when the song is this good. Nu, which translates to 'Now' in English, is a very funky and instant electro-pop track that worms it's way into your head on one listen.

Remarkably, this pretty blonde is just 18 years of age! Not the first time this year that a pop starlet has come from nowhere with big tunes - Adelen's 'Bombo' being one of my songs of the year, despite the artist behind it being only SIXTEEN!

Anyway, back to Elin, the melody on this track is literally unforgettable. The chorus has plenty of 'ooh ooh's in it that stick in your head as it is, but Elin doesn't leave it there, as she repeatedly belts out 'nuuuu!' as the chorus develops. As if one hook in the chorus wasn't enough for your debut single, the girl has gone and given us two!

I have high hopes for future Elin Överfjord tracks now; no pressure!
