Le Kid - We Are Young

Are we back to Sweden again? Sheesh, we're getting a little bit ScandiHooked here at Stereogold... but who can blame us?!

The song in question this time is 'We Are Young' by Swedish pop band, Le Kid. Now, in the past, Le Kid have released some extremely camp songs - some of which to our taste, Mercy Mercy (sampling Can't Speak French by Girls Aloud) was a pretty good song, some of which are just a bit 'hmm...' - but they've really altered their sound with this new track, with a much more professional and intriguing electronic sound - something that has very much interested me.

The track to me is something like 'Icona Pop meets Dragonette', a very good comparison if you ask me, as both of these two have created some incredible electro pop over the past 12 months.

There are some very interesting squelchy synths bursting through, which immediately created the 'I Love It' comparisons, and got us excited from the get-go - and then a fun feel shone through the verses, and delivered duly in the chorus. The chorus is incredibly anthemic, as the vocallists shout 'we are yo-o-o-oung'. It's incredibly infectious, and I found myself belting out proudly to the chorus, only on my first play - it takes a very memorable hook to get you singing along on first listen, but without doubt, 'We Are Young' did this.

Much better than the fun. track, and most other songs that reference being young, living like being young and what not. It's not up on YouTube, Soundcloud, or anything like that yet, but we do have the audio right here:
