Kentö - Complicated

Once again, it's been quite a while (a few weeks) since I last updated my blog - with the lovely Frida Sundemo.

But, it's taken something very good to make me go 'I really need to blog about this', and it's a track by a quirky male called Kento that has caught my attention enough to mark my return to blogging. I can't find too much about Kento at the moment, though several blog searches to tell me that he's Brazilian (which I would never have guessed), but the most interesting fact about Kento is that he's a protégé of electro-pop master, Frankmusik - and you can definitely the hear the Frankmusik influences in his music.

'Complicated' is a wonderfully crafted pop track, with plenty to get us excited - the track was written by Kento and Frankmusik, produced by Kento and Frankmusik (amongst others), and sounds exactly how I'd expect it to given that sort of description - though, that's definitely not a bad thing. I find it rare that males outside of Sweden seem to get this sound right - but 'Complicated' is a track that definitely does get it completely right.

Lots of different sound effects and vocal stutters are thrown into the track, with a very calm yet progressive chorus - but it definitely didn't pass us by that there was a sound building up by the chorus, which was definitely building up to something special. I'm a sucker for a good breakdown, and 'Complicated' really hit the spot, with a joyful breakdown, that while it wasn't crazy, the track wouldn't suit a bonkers breakdown - it felt so right, and helps to create this into a wonderful piece of pop.
