BROODS - Bridges

After a month's break, it's time to return to blogging - and over to New Zealand for today's Song Of The Day.

Oceania are really delivering at the moment with Lorde smashing left, right and centre in every country on the globe and Vance Joy teetering on the edge of blowing up with his track 'Riptide'. Whilst this track, 'Bridges' is more likely to just remain as a 'bloggers favourite' so to speak, it's more proof that we shouldn't just be looking to Scandinavia for fantastic music at the moment.

Bridges is superb. It's so delicate in it's first 45 seconds, Georgia Nott's vocals elegantly drawing us in over the top of a simple piano instrumental. When the repeat of the chorus comes in however, the production hits up and assists the dreamy vocals perfectly creating something pretty emphatic. While it seems to begin with like Georgia's superb vocals will steal the show - the contrast of the simple pianos, mixed in with deep and certain synths comes together to create something I'm really loving right now.

I don't know too much about Broods right now, but Bridges is already blowing up on the blogosphere (I'm late to it as usual) and it's not difficult to see why everyone's falling in love with this Auckland duo.
