The Good Natured - 5-HT (Edit)

The Good Natured - a relatively unknown band (but fairly popular across the blogosphere) who have produced plenty of very good tracks. But here's the leap from very good to amazing, 5-HT.

The track is just everything we want in a track of this sort, which shows off the 'pop noir' sound that they have created for themselves. Produced by Richard X, who you may know for working on tracks with Liberty X back in the day or the glorious work he did with swedish duo The Sound Of Arrows, has delivered undoubted pop gold with 5-HT.

5-HT begins with a very dark, dramatic sound - but it's when we reach the chorus, that Sarah McIntosh's gorgeous, silky voice really shines. And, it's apparent from the drop in production in the chorus that we're heading to something incredible, and we get exactly that, as a superb, tasteful, synth-pop breakdown with Sarah's tuneful yelps of 'woah oh' over the top.

There's a lot on offer with 5-HT, but it certainly packs a good punch - and is a track we've had on repeat for the past week.

Sadly, you have to wait until March 2013 to buy it, but here's hoping this is the track that takes The Good Natured into the big time, it's certainly got a big sound that warrants success - and they're now signed to the record label Cherrytree Records, who have people such as Lady Gaga and LMFAO on their books. And, also Natalia Kills... so we're not quite sure whether it's a good thing or not to be signed there, judging by her success.
