LUMINITES - BRING IT

Luminites are a foursome (these days) that have grown their fanbase through YouTube, with 1 girl and 3 boys. We getting Cover Drive vibes here, or just me?

Well, I was getting Cover Drive vibes from their whole image, their origin of popularity, the talented YouTube covers of well known songs. But, today, after some superb covers of tracks such as 'Live While We're Young' by One Direction and 'Payphone' by Maroon 5 - it was time for Luminites to unleash an original track on the world, and it's very much taken me by surprise!

'Bring It' is a lot more edgy than I was expecting, and comparisons to Cover Drive definitely come to a stop at their original material. The production is extremely slick and well produced, and reminds me of Wiley's 'Take That' slightly, but it's like that track on much less acid. There's lots of wonderful squelchy electronic noises from the track, and a 'Where Have You Been'/'Satisfaction'-esque breakdown is delivered perfectly, and lingers on the edge of dubstep. There are several hooks that will be stuck with us all night, with Steph's wonderfully 'la la la la's which really help bring the club feel, but if anything does that it's the 'there'll be girls, and drinks, and hooks..' lines, which are almost demanding us to start partying.

And if that's what they're demanding - then they're definitely going to get what they demand, as from first listen, I was raving in my chair, and singing along to the 'la la' sections. What a single, and if Cover Drive could manage some hits, then here's hoping Luminites can too, with a much more daring track than those we're comparing them too.

Here's the wonderful 'Bring It';
