IIIII - People (featuring Adele Kosman)

While the track isn't the freshest of songs to kick off the revival of Stereo Gold (premiering at the end of November 2014), it's certainly one hell of a stomper to throw things full pelt back into action.

I'll return to my glowing review after I've attempted to give you as much of a background as possible; although that's quite difficult, even from the name which is literally made up of 5 lines. Pretentious on face value? Yes. But we'll let them off for the sake of the music. The track features Adele Kosman of For BDK sorta fame (you'll know if you're a general blog scourer).

Although really all I had to say was "the band are Swedish" and you'd have had a fair indication that it was probably something pretty good.

Upon hearing this in January, it's become a certified staple in my music playlist, each and every time catapulting me into a wild blend of electronic beats that both feel like they're punching you round the face with aggression and sprinkling you with synth pleasures.

Immediately jumping into a repetitive chipmunk-esque chant at the beginning, the track wastes no time in jumping straight into your consciousness. A wise idea, this is an outfit that are kicking off their careers with no pictures, no real idea of how to pronounce their name, no biography - but instead doing the talking with an unforgettably big electropop number.

It's not all in the production either, while the track doesn't particularly have a chorus, the 'this is for the people we love, turn on, tune in, drop out' call that precedes a drop for the electro/synth infusion works just perfectly as a hook. It requires no big vocal performances, relying solely on the strength of the melody and the exquisite way in which it's all brought together in one big explosion of being so much at once, but not too much.

You see electro-pop and synth-pop left, right and centre when you cast your eye over the blogosphere so it takes a lot to stand out - but I speak for myself when I say this track made itself known loud and clear.
